This session holds a special place in my heart. One, because these two are dear friends. Two, because Joshua Tree is one of my favorite places. And three, because this was taken back when John Poulos Photography was just ramping up in Los Angeles and operating under a different name and with a partner, my then girlfriend, now wife. That being said, I remember this session very vividly. We camped; Allison & Jules are avid campers. Day 1 was a breeze. We arrived. We set up camp. We put our lovebirds in fuzzy and flannely things and we traversed into the desert (meaning we walked about 30 yards off the main road). I got to use, what turned out to be a workhorse of a DIY beauty dish out there. in the desert Never underestimate the value of a good DIY YouTube tutorial. It came in especially handy for that one nighttime beauty, where I like to believe they're staring off into the dark ambiguity of matrimony and wondering what lies beyond the vail.
